Well what do you know. The NHL uses Twitter to grow their traffic to their sites. Yup, they are combining lots of different avenues of social media to grow their site traffic. No surprise there. However what makes them excited is the quality of the traffic. Visistors are staying for 25 minutes, visiting several pages and really diggging into the site.

Maybe its obvious, maybe its not but what I don’t hear them say plainly is that they already had the content they just didn’t get it out to their fans. What if you build a library but nobody knows that its there.  Whats even more interesting to me is that the NHL has a Director of Social Media Marketing. Cool!
